eMotion engines is driven by a team of individuals that has immense experience in the Post Production, Broadcast and Film industries in addition to having extensive experience of owning, building and running businesses on an international scale. They also want to have fun!

 

Team biographies currently authorised for publication:

MC Patel - CEO

MC is a recognised serial entrepreneur in the Broadcast and Post Production industry. He was a driving force behind Abekas in the 1980s and went on to establish Alpha Image, a company that lead the way during the digital revolution in the early 90s. After selling the business to Dynatech, MC became the Head of European Sales closing substantial multi million dollar contracts with STAR, ORBIT and Wharf Cable. He then moved to Discreet as Director of Hardware technology before leaving to set up Post Impressions, a company specialising in developing high performance platforms, in 1999. After selling Post Impressions to Snell & Wilcox he has pursued a career providing Business Development consultancy to small, high tech companies in the Film and TV industry.

MC's strength is his ability to combine his deep understanding of broadcast and post production workflow with his knowledge of the technologies involved to create pragmatic solutions. His ability to then go on and sell those solutions makes his involvement very special. As well as filling the CEO shoes, he is the company’s product evangelist and chief sales person.


Dr. Anil Kokoram - CTO

Dr Anil Kokaram, Algorithm Technology is a recognised expert in the field of Image Processing and an Acadamy Award winner. He provides the organisation with the technology at the core of the company's products. He is a Senior Lecturer and Fellow of Trinity College, Dublin. He is also Associate Editor of IEEE transactions on Image Processing. Anil is Founder of Green Parrot, a start up company specialising in providing Image Processing algorithms and the organisation that will, initially, provide the engine room to develop the early product. In addition Anil has provided consultancy to Pace Institute, Dublin; The Foundry, London; Daimler Benz, Stuttgart; Cable & Wireless, and Cambridge Consultants. He has numerous papers to his name, has written his own book on Digital Algorithms applied to Archive material and has contributed material to a number of other publications.

Roger Henderson - Non-Executive Chairman

Roger Henderson - eMotion engines Roger is currently Chairman of Trilogy Communications and SVP of Ascent Media Networks EMEA. From 2005 to 2006 Roger was CEO of Visual Media Inc, a start up company creating open source solutions for video content creation and on-line distribution; prior to this he was CEO of Chyron Corporation from 1999 to 2003; and MD of Pro-Bel Ltd from 1996 to 1999.

Roger has extensive and successful experience of company management at the highest level, spanning businesses from start-up to public status. He is also technically oriented having spent 15 years as a successful software engineer and manager. This combination of technology comprehension and management skills provides the company with strong, empathetic leadership. This photo is a relic of the internet bubble days and should still, just about, work for identification purposes.


Ray Hartman - Director

Ray is a Chartered Accountant. He was one of the founding directors of Pro-Bel Ltd and was Chairman and Finance Director during the period prior to Pro-Bel's sale to Chyron Corporation. He became a non-executive director of Chyron after the merger and Chairman of Trilogy Communications Ltd when Trilogy's management bought the company from Chyron. Roger Henderson succeeded Ray as Chairman of Trilogy where Ray remains a non-executive director.

Ray works with a number of small companies, mainly on financial issues and brings high level financial experience to the Company.


Colin Ritchie - Director

Colin is currently CEO of AArmadillo inc. a technology resource company based in Los Angeles CA. He has been involved with the entertainment industry for over 25 years and has worked for companies such as Rank Cintel, 5D, Quantel, Kodak and Alpha Image. Working with Digital Television throughout the eighties prepared Ritchie for the development of Digital film technologies, joining the Kodak Cineon team in 1992 and a year later the Quantel Film and Print team. Ritchie's successes are launching the first Digital Rank MKIIIC, The Alpha 500 Digital Switcher, Cineon, The 5D Colossus and 5 years ago his own company AArmadillo.

Colin has spent his entire career working with the latest entertainment technologies and introducing them to a global market.
